Fergus price history in NZ: what changed and when

Fergus's NZ list prices from 2019 to today, each rise dated to the pricing-page copies it falls between. Sourced and calm. Checked 15 October 2026.

Last updated

Fergus's New Zealand prices have gone up in steps since 2019. We could not find Fergus announcing the rises, so this page does what a builder would do with a shoebox of old receipts: it lines up dated copies of Fergus's own pricing page and shows what changed between them. Every figure is as shown on Fergus's pricing page, nothing is estimated, and where a copy is missing we say so rather than guess a date.

Fergus NZ list prices a month, as shown on its pricing page

1 April 2021$40$60$15

13 October 2025 (main page)From $53From $75From $22
15 October 2026 (NZ page)From $53From $75From $26

Each row is one dated copy of Fergus's pricing page held by the Internet Archive, except the last, which is the live page on 15 October 2026. Timesheet users were $10 on Basic and $15 on Professional in 2020. Checked 15 October 2026.

What are Fergus's prices today?

Fergus's New Zealand pricing page shows Basic from $53 a month and Professional from $75 a month, with a 14-day free trial. Enterprise, for 10 or more people, is priced by talking to them. Timesheet users start from $26 a month and contractor users are $4 a day.

The page also carries a banner reading "Limited Offer: Get 90% off til December", with a reduced figure printed beside each plan. That is a limited promotion. The list prices underneath are still $53 and $75, so it is the list price to plan around once the offer ends. Checked 15 October 2026.

How did Basic and Professional change?

Basic was $30 a month on the copy from 11 June 2020 and $40 on the copy from 1 April 2021, so that rise sits between those two dates. Professional stayed at $60 across them.

By 6 August 2024 Basic read $42 and Professional $63. Between 6 August 2024 and 25 January 2025 both went up again, to $48 and $68. The Internet Archive holds no copy of the page in between, so the window cannot be narrowed.

The most recent step took Basic from $48 to $53 and Professional from $68 to $75. The NZ page still read $48 and $68 on 6 September 2025, and Fergus's main pricing page read $53 and $75 on 13 October 2025. So it happened between 6 September and 13 October 2025. The NZ page is next held on 23 January 2026, and it reads $53 and $75.

What about timesheet and contractor users?

Timesheet users were $10 on Basic and $15 on Professional in 2020, and $15 in April 2021. The NZ page showed $20 on 12 June 2025 and from $22 by 13 October 2025. The live page now says from $26. The NZ page still read $22 on 13 May 2026, so that last step is between 13 May and 15 October 2026.

Contractor users were $3.50 a day on the NZ page on 23 January 2026 and $4 a day on 13 May 2026. That step is between those two dates.

Did Fergus stop saying per user?

On 12 June 2025 the NZ page read "$48 per user / per month". By 20 August 2025 it read "From $48 per month", and the plan cards have said that since. Earlier copies of the page used per user wording too. The live page still prices extra people separately, as timesheet users and contractor users, so look at how many people will need a seat before you work out a monthly figure.

What should you keep in mind when reading these numbers?

These are windows between dated copies, not the day a price changed. Fergus did not announce any of the changes that we could find, and we found no builder forum thread about them either. Rises that fall between two copies are stated that way on purpose.

Fergus's pricing page shows a dollar sign and does not say anything about GST on the copies since 2021, so we do not state a GST basis for any figure here. For anything after August 2025 we quote the NZ page, because Fergus's main pricing page became its global one and differs on some add-ons, such as certificates.

We left out the copies from 2023 and early 2024. On those the plan cards and the comparison table on the same page disagreed by a couple of dollars, so they do not make a clean data point.

What does Fergus do well?

Fergus was made in New Zealand and it shows. It is a solid, well-established tool for running jobs and reading supplier invoices. If your work is mostly cost-plus billing with a crew to schedule, a rise of a few dollars a seat may be small next to what it saves you. Our Fergus alternatives page has the longer comparison, including where it suits fixed-price builders less.

What does CostMate cost, for comparison?

CostMate has a free plan with no card needed, and new accounts get 30 days of full access, also with no card. Our own prices are on the pricing page.

Where this comes from

Every Fergus figure is as shown on Fergus's pricing page, either the live page at fergus.com/nz/pricing, checked 15 October 2026, or a dated copy of the page held by the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. The 2020 and 2021 copies come from fergus.com/pricing and from the pricing data that page loaded in 2021. Fergus may have changed its prices since.

What CostMate does is true of a brand-new account today.

Check Fergus's own pricing page before you decide. The dated figures here are what Fergus showed on those days, and the live page is the one that counts.
