Free quote checker for NZ builders. Paste your quote or upload the PDF and see what scope, exclusions and Building Code points you've missed. No signup.
Paste or upload a building quote and get back a list of checks worth reviewing before it goes out: scope that is not stated, exclusions that are missing, and Building Code points the document does not mention. No signup, no card, and nothing is created on your behalf.
Scope that is implied rather than written down, which is where variation arguments start. Exclusions a quote of that type usually needs and this one does not carry.
It also flags NZ Building Code points relevant to the work described (weathertightness, structure, drainage and the like) by their Code identifier, so you can look them up yourself.
Every output is framed as something to consider confirming, never as a verdict. It does not rule a quote for or against the Building Code, because a document review cannot establish either and saying otherwise would be a claim nobody could stand behind.
The free checker never outputs a price, a rate or a labour figure. It reviews what the document says; it does not second-guess the numbers in it.
No account is created, and nothing you paste is turned into one. You can use it without ever having a CostMate login.
A PDF of the review is watermarked as a provisional internal review, not for dispute use: because that is what it is. If you want it to carry more weight than that, the answer is a properly scoped quote, not a stronger watermark.
The fix is usually upstream: a quote is hard to check because the scope behind it was never written down. That is the first step in how CostMate works, and there is a free plan on the pricing page if you want to build the next one that way.
Treat every point it raises as a question to confirm (with your plans, your BCA, or the person who wrote the quote) not as a finding.
